This is a possible report that the Assistments system could provide for teachers. This prototype was designed to answer the question: "what information do we need to provide teachers with so that they understand where their students are struggling?".
Generating a report showing how skills relate to state standards should be helpful in showing how skills taught in class by teachers map to their students' understanding of standards tested on high-stakes exams. Providing a count of students making use of the hint system in the Assistments software should serve as a good supplementary gauge to the confidence value in the students' performance on a given skill.
Pros
- The teacher can quickly determine what skills students are fairing poorly on that they need to practice in class
- The teacher can quickly see a projection of the class's expected performance on the standardized test
Cons
- The teacher may have trouble determining what a skill means without being provided with a more concise description accompanying the skill name.
- The teacher may not understand what confidence intervals mean
